CONGRATULATIONS TO TEAM 4PEOPLE1OCEAN UPON THE COMPLETION OF OUR PROJECT.

Thanks Jonathan and hope you enjoyed because we had fun

Conclusion

The pH meter had an uncertainity of about 0.1. The data we gathered shows that the pH is approximately 7.91 for the whole ocean. As the results were taken on 2 different days of the week we can say that the pH does not change alot thus is somewhat constant. It is necessary to note that this pH is almost neutral and because of this it supports a variety of acquatic life.
like barnacles, crabs, sea stars ,sea urchins ,sea lions and many others. In addition due to the constancy of the pH this life is able to last longer .From researched articles we learnt that a 0.2 -0.3 change in pH slows the calsification process thus the ocean is suitable.Lastly from these results we can say that the ocean is not so salty and thus low pollution.
The Pearsoon docks had a low pH which shows that there are more salts in the water where we stay and could signify the pollution we create in the docks. The Marina is second highest because there is alot of activity at this place like a store and quite as high pollution chances while people consume. However we can conclude that the water in the Pacific Ocean especially in Padder Bay is all at around a pH of 7.91

Calculations

This is our results calculated as averages:

Results

We meeet another obstacle .........no one can use the pH meter and wow guess who we just met down at the docks ..........................GARTH.................

We quickly stumble down and grab this resource and ask him to help us and GOOODDD JOBBB GUYS ..................we have valid results.

A table showing the pH results for the samples taken today and on Thursday.

AND EAST OR WEST HOME IS BEST.

We managed to get Elly out of the mud get her cleaned and head out to our very own Pearson docks and we get our last water sample.

AND NOW ITS TIME TO GET INTO OUR LAB COATS AND GLASSES........

THEN TO THE MARINA ..................past the same Maxbell steps.

Slightly exhausted but we are too persevering to give up so..........................we keep moving.........down the hill and into the forest. It was now Elly's turn to get the water sample and with so much enthusiasm she heads out and hurrrraaayyyy!!!!!!!!!she has it.

And now its time for Elly to bring the sample and we head back BBBBBBUUUUUUTTTTT

ELLY is FALLING and she is STUCK IN THE MAD

THE PROJECT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The difference in the pH levels at the Wiers Beach, The Marina and Pearson docks.

We met today in the LLT at 8.30 and from Mark's "motivational" film clip we changed our idea from a boat ride to Race rocks to a walk to the beach and then we head off from the Maxbell steps. The walk to the beach was an enriching one both physically and socially . Jose asked " guys ,what is your EE topics?" Emilia says "am so scewed cos am really not sure what question am doing in Biology>><<<<".We talked all the way down about advisors ,monsters even military service and we also got the water sample at the beach. We also saaaaaaaaaaawwwwww the beach it was so beauuuutifuuul.

Getting started!!!!!!!!!

The stones have been set rolling and the adrenaline levels have risen in all of us.
toooo excited to get hands on with this project and crush it leaving Jonathan with no other option but to give us full marks without hesitation.
so..........
we,ve got lots of ideas being fresh in the field....
1.how about measuring the different pollution levels of the beaches?????
we would get to spend time together and work as a team to cover these beaches.............hmmmmm..................
2.how about the different pH levels at different bays and at different water levels??????????...............we get to actually do some experiment and go on ventures all together to racerocks and the Marina. Also we get to discover something new........hmmmmmm..........BONNE IDEE!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay recess for one week ,,,,,,and think what works best for us all..................
I lovethe way we are all smart!!!!!!!!
look at all these snart ideas????????

Welcome to our blog...

We are deciding which will be our topic...soon you will all know! Welcome and enjoy the best blog of the group 4 project.

2nd meeting hurray!!!!!!

Heads have been scratched, brains have been burst through the 7 days we have been apart and guess what??????????????
We have our Research question ...........

Which of the 3 bays closest to our ocean, the Marina (inner bay), Pearson Bay(middle bay) and Racerocks(outer bay) has the highest pH level ? Later we will discuss what impact that might have on the ecosystem at each bay.

Equipement list:
- pH meter
- containers for samples

We are looking forward to start!
GO GETTERS!!!!!!!!!!!
